Stark State College is looking for adjunct instructors in physics.

Prepare and deliver high quality day, evening, weekend, satellite or web based classes in physics.

Additional responsibilities include assessment of student’s performance, keeping classroom attendance records, submission of early alerts, midterm, and final grades by the required date, and professional development.

Position Duties

Prepare and deliver lectures and lab material in face to face, online, and hybrid formats.

A master class, textbook, and lab book are provided.

Operate and run the necessary lab equipment for the labs in a safe and appropriate manner.

Grade assignments fairly and timely.

Submit grades and various required alerts and other data in a timely fashion.

Perform and submit assessment for any sections taught.

Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Licensure/Certification Requirements

Master’s degree in physics or astronomy or related field

OR Master’s Degree with 18 graduate credit hours in physics, astronomy or related field is required.

Ph.D. in physics, astronomy or related field is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required
Experience in teaching college-level physics or astronomy is preferred.

Must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a team focused and student centered environment is essential.

Ability to use technology that includes MS Office programs and Internet delivered materials is required.

Familiarity with lab data collection tools and software a plus.

Enthusiasm for teaching and continuous professional development is highly valued.
