Material Characterization Workshop
Friday, November 3, 2023 • 9:00am – 3:00pm
University of Akron, Jean Hower Taber Student Union, Room 312 • 303 Carroll Street Akron, Ohio
Progress in polymer science is rapidly broadening the horizons for the applications of polymeric materials across a diverse spectrum of industries and end-use scenarios. These applications are progressively becoming more intricate, whether it involves the integration of sustainable and recycled polymers into consumer products or the engineering of smart polymers for sophisticated biomedical applications such as intelligent drug delivery systems.
The escalating complexity of these materials necessitates a perpetual quest for novel methodologies among scientists to comprehensively fathom their inherent properties. Recent strides in the field of material science, including post-consumer recycling, additive manufacturing, nanotechnology, precision film coatings, and advancements in the medical device sector, have given rise to the emergence of novel, highly specialized materials designed to meet specific mission-critical objectives.
Mass Spectrometry has become an imperative material characterization technique to evaluate the performance, stability, and safety attributes inherent to these groundbreaking materials.
